Dear reader,

I would love to address you personally about my online writing course and classes because I think a teacher-student relationship determines much of the results. You can have an award-winning teacher and a student full of dreams...and yet, it is possible that the student learns nothing.

First of all, let me just give you an outtake on why I developed this online writing course. Yes, one...is to make money. (Pride is not very filling in reality)

Two, I have reached a stage whereby I have finally realized that I have to have a reason to go on writing. I have been writing for the past decade....from right here in my home and I would like to think that, to a certain extent, I have been not only lucky, but I have been relatively successful.

Reading and writing is a passion for me and I feel that by developing this online writing course, I not only get to help others, I help myself too.

I am big on charity and helping others, you see.

What inspired me to come up with this online writing class is the fact that one of my kids is dyslexic. The horror of horrors. This mom's got a passion and is making a living with writing and my dreams of ever having an award-winning noble prize winner son all gone with the wind.

But my son's talented in other things and that is when I realized that I can pass on the things that I have discovered over the decade (and counting) onto other people! With an online writing course, I can inspire others to be what I hope to be.

I sometimes imagine having a student win an award and then mentioning my name, saying that I have been the biggest influence of their writing career!

It's silly but when you get to my age, silliness is something to be thankful for.

What you will get in my online writing course is this: complete attention, learn ways to release your inhibitions (yes, it's a big arresting factor when it comes to creativity) and help you use your imagination whenever the fingers go clacking over the keyboard.

Who's good for this online writing course? Will you laugh if I said 'anyone?' Promise not to laugh. The answer is ANYONE. As long as you have a dream of being a writer, whether for your own personal gratification or to earn a living, it's not my business to know but it will help me shape you into the kind of writer that you want to be.

What kind of writing will you learn through this online writing course? Well, the level is basic, so I am going to assume that you have a talent but have a problem with getting the words out. So, what you will learn is how to close your eyes and say 'ohm' every time you sit down to write.

OK, fine. I'm kidding.

Through this online writing course, you'll learn to find stuff to write about, how to use your imagination, how to see the article even before it appears before your eyes and how to see it from another person's point of view. I will also teach you how to draw up a skeleton for your article, flesh it out and then resculpture the thing.

There are many different types of writing, what kind of online writing course is this? For a start, this online writing course focuses on creative writing...which is basically article writing.

You can use the techniques to write your blog, your website, your school assignment but no, you can't use it on a company's financial report.

The modules? I like to keep things simple and uncomplicated. So, I worked it out to be something like this.

• Your brain - what inspires you, what do you like, what do you find interesting, when it your optimal focus time, your imagination, seeing things when you close your eyes (AHA! This is the OHM part of the online writing course)
• The empty canvas - how to get started even when you have no idea what it is that you are about to write, doing research and diving in
• Factual writing - here, we will delve into how to find facts and write it in your own voice
• Fiction writing - I'll help you reach into the back of your mind for ideas, how to look around you and fitting the things that you see into your plot.
• Humor writing - admittedly, this is the hardest but you've got to try it and find out for yourself if this is up your alley. Humor is a 'funny' thing - you either have it or you don't.
• Editing & proofreading- everyone's least favorite part of the job. but HEY, you've got to do, you've got to do it!
• Revision and Tweaking

The price of my online writing course change from time to time because of the exchange rate but it is safe to tag the figure at USD60 per week, twice a week, 45 minutes (more or less) per session. We use email and Skype (or MSN) to communicate with each other. And YOU HAVE TO HAND IN YOUR HOMEWORK.

The beauty of my online writing course is that you go from week to week, you don't have to pay for everything up-front. So, if this week, you're learning fiction writing, you can stretch it up to two weeks because you are busy with work or have an exam. But that is all I will tolerate!! :-) Kidding. I have to don the authoritarian hat some time if you were to take me up on my online writing course.
