Dec 6th , 2009 - Will You Mistakes Bring You Down Or Propel You Forward?

Was anyone else was caught by surprise when heard of the recent entertainment news flash regarding a renowned sports personality's infidelity? Gosh, I was flabbergasted. Snowballed and then flung across the room and splattered all over the walls. Anyway, there is something to be learned in life about stuff like that...about making terrible mistakes.

The lesson is this, every single one of us makes mistakes and that is simply because we make millions of mistakes every day, pardon me if I am not accurate on the stats front. But even as I am writing this, I am making decisions on what words should use, the tone of voice, and if the content that I am about to produce is going to be of any good at all. And I make mistakes (there, I just backspaced) and have the privilege of reversing my actions. The difference between writing and living is that there is no 'backspace' in life. You'll just have to move forward. One painful step at a time, revising your plans, admitting your mistakes and then promising yourself and others around you that the same mistake will never happen again.

Here's the thing that a lot of people are just so proud to see whenever something like this breaks out. First of all, celebrities are human beings and they make mistakes. TADA! That makes them human. And then you learn that some of them came out to say that they are sorry (multiple times) promising the world that something like this will NEVER happen again.

That is a responsible act....to stand up, take the blow and saying, 'Yes, guess what? I am not perfect, after all!' People forgive you when remorse is shown and effort is made to correct yourself and not pretend that nothing happened or it wasn't your fault. Well, this is what life is all about...one of life's most educational lessons. We learn to make mistakes and improve from there.

So, don't worry about making mistakes in life...you'll outgrow it. Without knowing how to bear the blow of the consequences, one will never improve and learn. The decision was made and it was a mistake. So be it.
