Define A Successful Freelance Writer

Recently, my sister graduated with a degree in Business Administration and I am so darn proud of her! I can’t say anything less because she did under very difficult circumstances. No doubt, she did not have any children to care for but she is, after all, thirty-something, working and has to take care of a household of people who can live with grimy kitchen counter for years.
I know she can’t, so, she ends up doing it.
That’s success – to me. But that brings me around to thinking about defining success as a writer. I mean, I am a freelance writer and if I want to promote myself, I can, by all means (right?) promote myself to the Holy Highness of the CEO who is running my whole life. I could also be the Optimus Prime of the Autowriters.
Hah! Beat that!
To some freelance writers, success means fame….lots of shoe-polishing, fanmails (er….I don’t mind that too much, actually), and being mentioned in websites or the local newspaper.
To other freelance writers, it means power….to change the world! I know of some writers who are like that and my hats are off to them people who can really make the world spin the other way around.
Of course, some other freelance writers think that writing success comes only when it’s accountable in the form of monetary gain. Which I don’t….but don’t mind, you get me? :-)
My take on freelance writing success is a little different but that’s because I like swimming against the tide. It’s funny, if you want me to do something, just tell me not to do it.
‘Don’t give yourself an electric shock, Marsha, it might kill you!!!’ screams my mother.
And there I go….ZAPPPP!!!!
With my hair standing on its ends, I smoke-choke, ‘You’re wrong, mom. It doesn’t kill. See?’
My take on being a successful freelance writer is pretty simple….happiness, creativity, entertainment, fiction and enlightenment. Hang on. It doesn’t sound very simple after all, huh? Well, it is if you look at it from my point of view. All my life (and career) as a freelance writer, I only look to inform and entertain.
If I do that, then I am successful. Simple, right? Told ya.

Listen up! I am a very nice person, if you think this article is neat and you'd like to publish it in your website, all's cool with me but with one condition. Only one and from the bottom of my heart, I wish that you would, in all sincerity, allow me my one single wish....to place the following codes into the your website at the END OF THE ARTICLE. It's not going to disrupt much, so please do it?
Either paste the above ABOUT THE AUTHOR stuff into your website (with links included) or copy the following codes into your website. That's it! Thank you! *muax*
